I live nearby and am a regular at this place - the food is excellent and the staff is friendly. The servings are large and the food is affordable. My wife and I eat Mexican food a lot, and this is one of our go-tos. Her mom makes the best pozole so we are hesitant to get it from any Mexican restaurant, but this is the only one we will get it from! Similarly, the Menudo is great too. Strong recommend!

I'm testing this theory that Mexican restaurants make really good burgers and so far the theory is standing. I ordered the cheese burger with everything on it and two carne Asada tacos. The burger was absolutely delicious. One of the best burgers I had. The burger was big and juicy seasoned to perfection. The tacos omg two corn Tortillas for each taco with a generous portion of carne. The carne was tender and so flavorful. The service was fast, customer service is on point and the place is clean. If you want an outstanding burger or Mexican food check this place out. I should have taken pics but I was too hungry.

Colima's Mexican Food is nestled in Vista, CA right off HWY 78 and Emerald Dr. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and enticing aromas of Mexico. Don't let the appearance fool you. The menu boasts an array of traditional Mexican dishes, but the real standout is their ceviche. Fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor, Colima's ceviche is a must try. Each bite is a delightful fusion of tangy citrus, crisp vegetables, and succulent seafood.

Food is nice- it's a departure from the typical California style burritos and tacos and features more authentic cuisine including sopas, tortas, street tacos, and a variety of fresh seafood. Service is very fast-- we ordered and got everything within about 5 minutes. (soup and tacos) Ambiance-- the dining area is a large plain empty space with a handful of tables with plastic checkered coverings. Not very inviting. I don't expect fancy digs for entry Mexican restaurants but it doesn't make me want to hang out here either. Perhaps this is a business strategy to get people to do more carry out orders? It's located right off the 78 and Emerald Dr, where there seems to be very few eateries, so this is a welcome place to have as an option.
